Firstly, what warranty friendly way is there of lowering a 330 clubsport?

secondly, can you split clubsport rims done and source deeper dishes?

Cheers

Dom

Hi Dom

I would have thought if you wanted to keep the suspension parts covered the only change would be an ACS set up but would imagine that to be costly as a main dealer item. You could source from elsewhere but not sure BMW would accept it in terms of a warranty claim.

The only other option is to go aftermarket but then the parts aren't covered, etc afaik. Unless someone else knows another way.

As for the wheels I don't know but hopefully someone will be along soon that does.

ACS kit to be completely warranty friendly but as said, its a fair bit £££ from the dealer.

Alternatively, you can risk it. If its a used car warranty, that doesn't cover suspension components anyway so they'd be hard pressed to argue that your coilovers resulted in the engine letting go...

Wheels. I'd imagine they can be split, but I doubt they'll be bigger dishes available...

I'm not sure what wheels clubsport's are but if they are genuine splits you'll need to find out whether they're two piece of three piece and where the split occurs? If when looking at the wheel without tyre you can see a bead of sealant (see below pics) then the front dish is seperate... this is what you ideally want and if so I can help you!

As above, if the dish is removable I can sort you out with some contacts that can produce you custom wider dishes. I paid circa £350 per pair.

Some journal pics of my splits...notice in the last pic the bead your looking for and also the wider rear custom made dishes.

If your wheels are split rims but only the centre section is detachable, you'd need new dishes with bins, I have no idea where you could get anything made but there are places that exist... in the US at least!

Chris

Eibach pro kit for the suspension lowering & new wheels of choice :D

Clubsport wheels are poor quality finish (Known BMW fault) so you would need new dishes etc & complete refurb which is probably not worth the expense or hassle.

If you decide to sell your clubsport rims, please let me know, as I need to return mine to std before selling this year !;)

To correct some of the above...

Bilstein/Eibach are good, and they do make parts for ACS, but neither facts are any use with relation to the original question as they'll invalidate any suspension-related warranty. Indeed, happy as the dealers are to sell you ACS stuff, they still don't man up without a fight if you have an issue. They get grouchy over having 19" oem wheels in some places, so suspension can be an issue.

Robin's ACS coilovers are for an M3, not a 330CS.

By 'wheels of choice, Mike means 'whatever you choose'. He's right, CS wheels corrode horribly and are really common warranty items, so you may be better off just losing them and buying a quality wheel with the dish that you like.

When I put eiback's on mine it didnt invalidate the warranty as I had a good report with the dealer so no problem when it came to a warranty claim to replace all four wheels (18" with 18" tho not 19") with ACS T3R's :D
So I guess it's easier if you know your local dealer well !

Can you lose the CS rims my way please !;)
