Police and civilian operators will use laser guns on vehicles when they come within a kilometre of the bridges. Under the rules governing mobile cameras, the vans must be visible from 100 metres. But most drivers will be caught long before they come within that range.

Says it all really, ****ers. nothing to do with safety.

Group buy on laser jammers anyone :D

On the Autobahns the incidents of fatal accidents are supposed to be no higher than here and they have no speed limit. The problem that we have is that people do not know how to drive on motorways. They should spend more money on stopping people who drive in the middle lane and people who cut infront of you without looking. These are the people causing accidents not the people travelling at 85 - 90.

Just got back from a night out with some mates, one of whom has a brother who's a traffic cop and often runs around the M4. Apparently while the cameras are west of Newbury, east of Newbury along to Slough they're using unmarked cars. It's some sort of comparison thing between unmarkeds and cameras by the sounds of it. They're using Vauxhalls for it, the only one he'd seen was OU 05 AAX and it's grey - so if you get one behind you, don't race it!

my lrc100 is wired up though my orgin b2, so is only working when b2 is.. so take the b2 off or dont turn the keys in the ignition and it wont work.. and i got a little switch on the bottom bit of the steering column which switches it off... the chap who fitted it for me tested it with his laser gun to make sure it worked from all different ranges etc... to make sure :):)
