I've just one an auction to buy the above (just like the ones Teddy sells) for $200 inc shipping :) . Perfect condition with box etc.

The american seller who bought the item from Germany, confirms that it will fit a rhd 330.

Is this correct?

Marvellous scenes :D

He's going to send it as a personal gift, so it s/b tax free. If not it's only 20.5% (vat + duty), so $40. Cable is 1.89, so looking at just over £20.

What a steal :)

Now I need to find time to fit the mods [hmm

vat is 17.5, import tax is 10% = 27.5%. FYI, it makes no difference whether u put it down as gift. in fact, u send something big and heavy and claim it's only worth $10 raises suspicion and customs can calculate duty rate at whatever they see fit. if 'gift' trick was as easy as this, everyone would be sending stuff with low figure declared. nonetheless if u pull it off you'd quids in! fingers crossed man!

I called C&E, they said 4% duty, so 20.5% in all. I know if goods are sent as 'returns' to replace damaged goods, no tax is paid as that would be double tax..............or is that a new Labour stealth tax :D

I have been sent other stuff from USA, all labelled as gifts, sent as personal items and have yet to pay any tax. None as big as the strut brace though.

Nickleback, unfortunately no, the one he's sold is off his car.

The other way to do it is to label them 'automotive parts replaced under warranty'
