what replicas? Replica of Nick's new strut brace? well the cf version is cheaper than the genuine ACS item anyway!
at the risk of sounding stupid .... what is a strut brace supposed to do? just look good?

Think they simply improve the ridgidity/stiffness (que Peppernick swallow/stiffness jokes) of the vehicle. Essential front and back on Cabrio's. Rear ones are a bit of a pisser if you play golf though or indeed, want to carry any item over 1 inch tall.

yeah it make the front more regid the best thing is to fit a strut brave front and rear and then fit some eibach anti roll bars, the e46 coupe already seem to come with a kind of xbrace on the bottom so with all the above (and some eibach springs or coilovers if money is not an issue (cough cough nick) then your have a car which pretty much handles on rails.
my old e36 had the xbrace fitted to it eibach anti roll bars front and rear , bistein sprintline shocks and springs but i didn't havethe rear brace due to my ice install and that car handled like it was on rails :-)
if i'm bored i'll fit the eibach anti roll bars to my e46
