Hi guys,

Just after a few opinions really.

I'm looking at purchasing a kit to interface my iPod with my standard head unit, CD in dash, CD changer but no aux in function.

I realise i will have to sacrifice my CD changer but thats no concern.

I am aware of two companies producing kits. The Dension unit and the Dice unit both look good and people seem to have had good experiances with them state side.

Seen as there is no definative answer to this one as to which is better could anyone who has had experiance offer their opinions.

Cheers,

Nick.

I've had the dension kit in both my BMW's & my old Rover (via an Alpine M-Bus headunit) and would highly recommend them to anyone. Tried the Pioneer ipod connection in my 330 and couldn't live with it at all, so sold it and went back the Dension Kit.

With the new firmware you get the tag info on the headunit, so the ipod can be hidden away (I had mine in the armrest) or you can just put it into Ipod mode and browse the ipod as you would normally.

Shame I'm in the process of getting rid of mine shortly, but will be able to connect straight to itunes with my carpc soon. :)

As above Denison is the best around on the market at the minute.

Does the Dension still have trouble with track titles and does it still take about 3 seconds to do anything after you press the button?

I hated mine when I had it, so I sold it pretty much straight away, though it might be different for nav equipped and non nav equipped cars.

Ive got the Dice setup

and it's great. Easy installation and fully intergrates with the OE radio, Only downside it's does replace the CD Changer as this is where you plug the control box into.
It also displays track names etc. on the radio display and you can use steering wheel controls to flick tracks or playlists.

I've got an Intravee, which allows you to use Alpine ai-net devices on standard BMW head units. So along with the ipod adapter I've got an MP3 CD changer, DAB radio and USB memory reader:

Cost me £105 quid for the Intravee but you have to be accepted onto the beta test programme in order to be able to get one. Quite a few other people I know have them as well.

have a dice - awesome bit of kit. Doddle to install, good sound quality and works off the wheel - not to mention mp3 tags on the head unit display.
