If someone is in the know... please chime in :)
I'm after one parking sensor, BMW dealer wants to empty my wallet for £60 for the feeble little thing! I've searched eBay but find variations with the part numbers and TBH, sellers who aren't too clued up....
Would a sensor from a saloon/coupe/convertible E46 be universal across the range or does the M3 have a specific variant?
I noticed a guy on eBay selling a complete rear M3 bumper with the sensors for £50 [starting bid]... Hmm 4 sensors and a spare bumper for the cost of one via BMW lol
Cheers,
Raj
According to Real OEM, they use the same part numbers. My saloon sensor is the same as one of the part numbers listed for the M3 2003 but it won't be colour coded (just come in a black plactic finish). The ones the dealer is quoting on for you appears to be the one to be painted or is already painted (hence why more expensive).
When I just had my car trim colour coded Paul at M Style had the sensors sprayed to match. Doesn't seem to be any peeling or anything. Paul at M Style can get them for cheaper than the dealer.

Yeah, they work fine. The ones on the coupe / vert's are colour coded from the factory and on the online OEM parts site are even listed with the part numbers for the different colours.
I do believe that it may be a specific paint though that they may use. and they're not lacquered either.
