Some pics from Gumball 2007 flag off

Spent an afternoon down at Green Park checking out the Gumballers. Some crazy cars, and more crazy modifications.

An Enzo with the loudest exhaust ever! Sounds just like the F1 cars at Goodwood. A Bugatti Veyron drivne by a chick and had her 10 year old son as her companion. Pagani Zondas, Carrera GTs, SLR 722s, CLK DTM cabrios, Lambos, Ferrari, Aston, Porsches were all there.

There was a Brabus CLS Rocket and a modded Bentley CGT with custom interior. Amazing cars.

i went down also and found a great spot right near the end just as they turned off to the left at the main junction.

all of the cars had to swing by there and many stopped to give the engines a good revving

I had to say this of all cars had to be the loundest - crazy!

That Bently with the custom iterior is normaly plotted up in fuel as a show car,(used to be Xtreme) in Harlow, just up the road from me.

I was there as well and the A1 car was so f**king loud and he put on a little show. It was very busy and there was people everywhere but I really enjoyed myself. Then I got back in my rari and made some noise myself! :D

Yeah, a handful fo M5s and M6s. The most striking BM is still Alex Roy's Team Polizei 144 E39 M5. That car is now sporting Brembo brakes front and rear.

Was crazy, atmosphere was cool and the smell of burning rubber was everywhere.

Nick, u must have got there early to get a quality spot, we could barely see the cars once they were moving. but the soundwas good enough

I got there at 4pm and the spot was directly outside Green Park station. The earlier sections were too crowded from my past experience, you get a lot more space and could get very close to the cars further downstream. Where I was was awesome as the cars had to stop for a set of traffic lights and once the lights turned green, they belted it all the way down towards Knightsbridge.

quality pics, the guy driving the bently (actually called ritchie, how fitting!) didnt pay for that car, he blagged it as a promo tool for his business, Fuel, and the same with all the mods, paid for nothing.

I have been doing so…. this years rally has been very strict, they all got nicked in Germany, the Germans tried to class it as being an illegal road race. They were also stuffed when they entered turkey. The gumballers missed their flight, and rumors have been said that the rally route has been re-mapped and a new route has been planned.
Looks like the European authorities have clamped down now and future gumball’s are going to be hard.

They do that every year mate, a few years ago the Latvian police were arresting every gumball car they came across for the exact same thing but in true gumball fashion everyones reply in the police cells was 'its not a race, its a rally!'

Wikid pics by the way Nick, Roy and I were comming the oposite way down the A20 on the way to collect my cousin & passed about 5 ford GT's, a bunch of italians and a few german exotics including the Porsche 2 seater thingy i cant remember the name of :)

Following our earlier release reporting yesterday’s accident - As a sign of respect we have decided that this year's Gumball 3000 Rally will not travel any further and will end in Bratislava this evening, May 3rd 2007.

As the organisers of the rally we feel that it should be stopped as a mark of respect to Vladimir Cepulyoski who died today after an accident involving one the participating drivers.

We are very saddened by what has happened and feel that it would be wrong to continue. On behalf of Gumball 3000, we once again extend our deepest sympathies to his family and we are doing everything we can for them.

This is the first time anything like this has happened in 9 years of travelling through over 40 countries with 1000's of drivers and it is with deep regret that I make this announcement.
