Shuriken.i think it is 35 was going to get 25 but the man said it might be a bit dark.am glad i went with lighter as do not want it to dark

Yeah, they seem pretety dark anyway. Is that number a percentage of the light that is let through or something?

i will try to explain,from what i was told.
orig i wanted 27 smoked which i saw on a e46 m3.but the man i went to did not do that grade and said his 20 would be similar,so i went down this morning and he explained that 35 was lighter than 20,which i thought wuold be the opposite.

so i opted for the 35(his 20 was quite dark).

as for the tint something to do with light he explained it to me but was not really lictening.but he came highly rec.

i dont know if that makes sense [hmm

he also said that grades go the other way aswell depends on quality of tint.(i have really cofused you now)

Looks good mate. Will look alot better once the rear and maybe the fronts are done.

The way the percentages work is the lower the percentage the darker the film. Its whats known as Visible Light Transmition (VLT). So 35%, means that it will let 35% of the light to come through the film. 20%, means that only 20% of the light will come through the film (hence it is darker and lets less light through).

I have 54% all round which some may think is too light but I think it rocks [jam .

Fishy, don't leave it like that! It doesn't look good, to put it poilitely. Get the fronts done in the same grade it will look the nuts!

I agree with 330-Singh, don't leave the fronts completely stock. If you don't really want the fronts done too dark then go with 50% as they will be light enough to see in through when close to the car but because the backs are dark then the front will still look darker than just 50% (if that makes sense :confused: ).

It's illegal to tint the front windscreen. I'll just do the windows.

Also, the propblem with the E46 coupe is that the DOT Matrix on top of the rear windscreen is not very tint friendly, you get bubbles and IMHO looks very unneat. I just tinted the sides (rear vent and windows) on mine (35%) and with a dark interior, your rear screen will not look that out of place.

@ peppernick..thanks for info.to be honest i dont know what to do now some people say leave it and others say do backs and rear.
iwill have to think it over for a day or two :confused:
