I normally don't have the pleasure of driving around in london. However, family commitments meant I had to drive from Glasgow down.

All I want to say how the fcuk yous londoners stay calm I just don't know. My bp was on the rise the minute I touched Hanger Lane and it only settled when I reached my destination,Kingston!!

Luckily, it was the merc I drove down and it itself was effortless, but the cutting up and bad driver skills really took a toll on me. The stop n go traffic is such a pain in the ar$e too....

To top all of that, I had to go into Southall...Parking found eventually just to see some ar$ewipe trying to squeeze his kid-on M5 between me and another car on the opposite side (mondeo). I gave him a shout to wait his answer "It's alright mate I'll make sure I hit the merc and miss yours!!!"

If I didn't have to come back to Southall I would've belted him...unfortunately the foods too gooooooood.

I haven't driven in London for a while now, used to love going up there and doing deliveries during the day. It's a completely different driving style, the amount of people that get irrate and start beeping and shouting at each other is funny. Watch out for buses though, the tend not to look before pulling out!

There is a definate driving style to cope with london traffic which is rarely applied anywhere else....if you think hanger lane is bad you should try pall mall & regent street!!!
Fortunately for me i learned to drive around south kensington & knightsbridge area so have had the driving style from the day i could drive, which to those who have even been in a car with me or seen me driving explains alot :D

Driving around London, you see a gap and you go for it. Simple as that. When people shout at you, you just ignore them. You're in your own little world inside your own car in the midst of the chaos outside, oblivios to what is happening around you. That's how you keep sane :)

London may be bad, but not as bad as this road IMHO

No traffic lights, no obvious rules, no right of way, no signs, but best of all, doesnt seem to be any Road Rage

I'd rather put my fingers up, wave at the driver furiously, shout on top of my voice, drive in front of him, brake hard and stop the car and thats London for you:)

Kingston...how exciting!!! That's my home town. I love every opportunity of driving in and around London. It really is a case of 'get out of my way!' :D

Kingston reminds me of chav central, although night life there is wicked.

I suppose when ure in London, you just have to Go, no stopping, lol. Just don’t expect any friendly passes from bus’s and Taxi’s.

The perfect weopon for London driving is an old car - something solid, but clearly not worth a whole lot. People get out of your way, dont pull out in front of you etc

1500kg of Swedish steel (without stupid deforming bumpers) can make a horrible mess of something expensive and shiny!

i am from the country and when i first moved up here i went straight into london and i loved it :D

Reminded me a bit of ps2 games where you just race others, thats all it is really a race to the first space and then a splash of GTA when your bashing some one in lol!

I love driving in London especially around China Town where all the tourists admire your car like they've never seen anything like it before

i love driving in london too, its mental. if you dont klnow the size of your car exactly you loose wing mirrors and get dents and scrapes left right and centre.

for me im lucky with a lil car, just duck in and out of all the gaps, quick glance over your shoulder, nail the go go pedal and dump the clutch, then its straight back on the breaks again. every man for himself, great stress reliever

the best in London is to drive a limo everyone gives you the way cos' its just nothing to do when you see streched Hummer in front of you, you can't see the driver siting higher so everyone use reverse gear :)
You can also use bus lanes
If someone is not happy then just pull over come and ask whats the problem :) Nobody ever told me whats the problem :) just reverse
