Hi guys,

I just thought i would let you see this lighter. A really top bloke on ebay has sorted me out with some bolts for Dig's belated birthday present. He went out of his way to get ones that fitted, a really nice guy, so he asked me to show you all this.

It cost £14.95 +£2 p&p

Email him on WDilster@aol.com

p.s. make sure your lighter socket is 21mm and not 19mm (i think that might be him taking the piss out of me after my bolt problems.)

Please post it on other forums as a favour to me!

Sorry m8. It's really tacky, looks like just a sticker over a Halfords unit.

Now if he can make an engine push start button to replace the cigarette lighter in ACS livery.......... ;)

As my mother once said. 'If you dont have anything nice to say then dont say anything at all.'

Somethings are best left alone, especially when a genuinly good person tries to do nice things for you. Just ask Durgs how out of the way this guy went to get the AC Bolts that fitted his car. You dont find many Ebayers willing to do that.

I understand that this item may not be to everyones taste, and i too would not have it in my car. I also understand that people are allowed their own freedom of speech, but i was just trying to do the right thing.

The reason i goot in touch with him in the firstplace was for there, and trust me, they are not naff bling bolts. They are very nice. It is yet to be seen how they actually look on the car though. Durgs put one on the otherday and i did not see what it looked like.

If it looks shit, expect abuse.

It's unfortunate you bought those bolts. I could have told you they will tarnish like a mofo within a few weeks and look like crap. I've had the valve stem caps and yes, they look good out of the packet, but trust me, the problem Digs has now with his bolts and being rusty has not been resolved with those new bolts. They're going to look just as bad by the new year.

Why, I don't abuse you or your car?

Only kidding.

I think you miss the point slightly, it was that this post was dying a dignified death, as it deserved to do. The general veiw on them had been made and agreed with, the lighter does not look good. I know that, everyone knows that.

If the bolts rust then so be it, at least we gave it a go. It is not like I spent £100 on a set and had them rust. And on the off chance they dont, then great, Giggs has some boths for 6-12 months that look good (atleast better than the ones he has. And we all know he will bechanging his car as soon as he sets his eyes on the new M5 in the flesh.

@Churchwa : tacky/bling comment was aimed at the lighter not the bolts.

Morale of the story: if you want AC Schnitzer bolts, buy AC Schnitzer bolts. It's unfortunate but true, but the ACS gear costs alot more because is generally better manufactured, engineered and quality tested.

I would be happy to buy some replica items, but for things such as bolts and other items fundamental to the running of the car I think you've got to go OEM or recognised aftermarket.

As you've found out, you will get honest but incerdibly experienced comments here, with the occasional piece of pish thrown in. Mostly from me. The pish that is.

Dude I wish it was better stuff, I have had 3 sets of OEM ACS bolts, and they have all rusted on me. Its really letting the look my wheels down.

I am going to give these a try, worse case they will last 6 months and the same will happen. No damage done.

Dude, just get locking wheel bolts, stainless steel, blend in nicely with your wheels, piss your tyre fitter off ;)

Hahaha, i can just imagine it now. All 5 keys rolling around and the mechanic trying to work out how to take the wheels off. 10 hours of labour just to replace the disks.

Durgs.

That car (bike) with the stereo looks like your old Fiesta!! ;)
