Guys, as I'm taking the plunge and upgrading to an M3, just wondering if the following parts can be re-fitted from the 330 coop to an M3 coop:

ACS Gear Knob and Handbrake cover
ACS pedals
Pre-facelift grille surround
GruppeM filter.

Thanks in advance.

Everything you listed except GruppeM, unless you get an SMG then putting the big heavy ACS gearnob on will cause it to flop about.

Nice....I was going to sell off as a "starter pack" along with the clubsport splitters but I'll get BMW to fit to the new M as part of the deal!

BTW Nick, any view on Manual v's SMG?

Good question that, I've been going through that one myself. SMG cars seem to run about 500-1k more expensive and the dealers reckon it's the way to go, but everyone I've spoken to almost without exception has said to go manual. At the moment, I'm trying to stay with the latter on the basis that drivers know more than dealers!

Heeeellllllloooooo :D

SMG is the way to go, if your not that bothered about a clutch pedal. This is the only big difference and there are lots of differnt modes and options to try out in smg....lauch control, automatic throttle blip, shift lights, speed adjustment of gear changes and a fully automatic mode for city driving.

If you've never driven an smg, you need to drive one. I drove one for 30mins and knew thats what I wanted.
The smg in an m3 is completely different system to what Nick had in his clubsport and there are hardly any problems reported.

If you like getting sweet gear changes then go for a manual otherwise smg so you can keep both hands on the steering wheel while blasting around. :D

I went for the manual because I miss manual too much after SMG for 2.5 years. Also, it's more tunable ie: clutch, lightweight flywheel, CDV valve etc.....and I can blip the throttle and slip the clutch whilst reversing to hear my exhaust :D

SMG2 is very good. Personal preference really. Test drive very important.

All you need to know about SMG2

I have driven both manual and the SMG2 and I have been converted to the SMG! If I was buying an M3 it would have to be the SMG box.

I have the SMG2 box in mine and I love it. I really can't see any point in having a manual. It's uncanny how it works. Don't get it confused with SMG1, that was pretty bad.

If the 11 driving modes aren't enough, then get a manual!

Take a test drive, and you will see why people are prepared to pay more for it.
