Finally had my supercharger fitted.I set off on Sunday morning and arrived in Schossehausen to stay in the very nice Hotel Zur Post for the night.Next morning drove to Infinitas in Autenzell.Met Christian and Dirk handed over my car at 08.30 then Dirk dropped me back to the town.My youngest Chris came with me but was ill all the time we were there, turns out he had tonsillitus :( .We managed to stay away from the factory until about 15.00 then temptation got the better of us and we returned to watch the finishing stages of the fitting.By 19.00 everything was ready and we started our return trip.I cant speak highly enough of the service we received from Infinitas, very professional from start to finish, even stayed late so that we could return home.We did a total of 1396 miles in 48 hours and I can honestly say that I enjoyed every single minute of it.The car drove superbly the whole way,it never missed a beat, obviously it was better coming back :D :D .Thanks to the VTTR brakes we managed to avoid a death defying move by an artic, which resulted in Chris sliding off the seat, but at least we missed getting crushed between a truck and a barrier. The difference in the car before and after fitting is night and day, this is my first ever real performance mod and its worth every penny.Pleased, you bet:D :D :D :D

good to hear it, a bit ofm extra punch from a SC is always a good start. Was there a reason to go all they way over there to get it fitted rather than the UK? Was there much of a cost difference?

Anyway love it and another SC for the baord!

I wanted to go direct and have it fitted by the factory itself, after all they make the kits there, they developed them, they fit them. Its putting out around 300bhp now.I'm not getting involved in costs,as I didn't want to go any other route than factory fitted

Those pics brought back memories! I was there one chilly November morning back in 2004

Looks like they've got themselves an E60 M5! Still in that Olive Green colour!

Black Sabbath, the rolling road day should certainly an interesting day. I have an ASA SC kit on my 330ci and it would be good to see if there's much difference between the 2 units.

I know both you and Durgesh have been there but I cant praise them enough.Very professional from start to finish. They mentioned that in June/July this year they have a kit for the E36 M3 coming out pushing out over 400bhp  and no Tracey is not having one fitted before you ask

Congrats Mark, an increase to around 300bhp would make all the difference.

Love to know more about the in gear acceleration and where the real impact is being felt.

Congrats black, I love your 5er, she is one of the cleanest, best tastefully modded ones out there. i bet you love the supercharger and it gives the car that extra grunt needed... (how much do you want for a ride in the brown trouser machine?!) Sounds like they gave a great service and fantastic friends to keep *nudge nudge "group buy!!!"

Enjoy mate.

Superb thread, love stuff like this. This is the first 530i that I have personally heard of being S/C'd, I guess there are some out there in the UK but yours is the first I have heard of so that is even better :D .

I just had a look on their website. Looking around £5k for the kit+install for the Z4 - which would take power up to 320PS - so very close to an M.

Budgets do allow expensive mods at present :-(

Maybe later in the year - or even better next spring!

Excellent Mark. Glad it all went ok. Can't wait to see the car in the flesh and take a ride. Was tempted by this route with the 328 but in the end sold the car for the D. But as you did, I would have driven there just to meet them and have a mini holiday too. Plus you get to really open her up on the way back...;) :D

Mine is the extended warranty. But, i suppose that if it was something not related to the s/c then warranty should still be valid!?! no querstions asked. Did you ever have a repair that was engine related done under warranty whilst you had the s/c?

cheers

I had a power steering pump fault which was down to the SC Belt, they changed that without a charge. A few other things ( minor ). Extended warranty might be a different story with it being down to the dealer. Although i here its not worth the paper it written on anyway.

hmmm...mine is the new extended warranty. if it's no goof then i won't renew it next year but a little bit cheaper, and piece of mind for me at least when i am going round the 'Ring! funds don't allow for a s/c, we'll see what happens next year!

Hi Lee, is that price fitted at their own workshop???

Also what other components do you have to change? e.g. clutch etc???

well done Mark, you will not be dissapointed in the long term with this kit, it is amazing value too, enjoy.

Remember if you get used to / bored with the power ( and you will believe me :D ) then you can add approx another + 20 - 30 bhp by adding larger injectors and a proper remap.

If anyone is interested, the UK fitted price on this kit is £3400 inc vat .

all the best

Absolutely stunning matey. Do you have the contact details to get a quote for fitting at their factory? Would make a nice trip I should imagine. Anybody with a supercharger got any suggestions for insurance companies that won't have a panic attack at the mention of a supercharger?

This (http://www.infinitas-gmbh.de/Newdata/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=142&lang=en) is Infinitas's contact page. And as for insurance, A Plan. Just renewed my insurance with them and with all my mods listed like for like it cost me £391... :D

Thanks for that Matt  but you forget that I'm still only 21 (with 28 years experience).Anyway aside from that I have been using the car over the last few days and I am very impressed with the increase in power :D :D :D I dont think the traction control light has ever been on so much.It will be interesting to see the results on Dyno day this month. But for my first ever serious power mod I'm really pleased with the whole package,it almost looks factory fitted. Thanks for all the comments as well it makes it all worth while.

Mark, I heard about you going over for this and I'm really looking forward to seeing the car again at the next meet we both attend! Once I'm less skint from moving house I might go down the same route (although through CA rather than driving all that way ;)).

Just need to remove that Chelsea badge off the back of your car and it will be my favourite E39. ;)
