Not a fan of the colour, wing mirrors, small rims or interior. Apart from that it is great!

Hmmm not a big fan of that, as you've said, don't think the colour helps it. The mirrors are horrible, not upto the M3's usual style. What size are those wheels, I'm assuming they will have bigger ones on the option list as they do with the E46? Looks nice from the front though, even in that colour. Not keen on the inside, again perhaps it's just the colour combo, but the few bits in grey and few in black plastic makes it look a bit cheap. I'm sure it'll look better in the flesh though and after a few mods.

I agree that it needs at least 19s but I really like the side profile shot,

notice it has a manual box as well :D :D :D :D :D

I think the trim is a cube kind of trim but isn't showing in the pics (quality) look at teh interior pic near the drivers air vent you can see the trim has some kind of desgin on it.

Over all I love it , I'm sure the mirrors are there for a good reason , and it just makes it more sexy in my mind :D

Love the engine and fire power, don't like the the look. But a trip to Evotechnik beauty salon should polish it up ;) Potential is there

Look at those brakes, I wonder if this will be the first M3 with reasonable OEM stoppers.

Interior needs a better colour, engine bay is slightly dull given the fire power within, actually like the mirrors, wheels look ridiculously small (another excuse for BM to add to the list of 'must by' options), overall looks I like and even in red :D

Psychic - exactly my thoughts.

Utterly HATE the mirrors, but I guess they help make other Bangle-ups on the exterior look less abhorrent.

Brakes don't look too special to me, but the fronts look big enough to be a 4-pot maybe, it's a start in the right direction. :)

I actually quite like the side profile and the bonnet, front etc. however not so sure about the mirrors and front wing vents  , I know the vents are a continuation of the side sculpting but they look a little too low and awkward IMO.

Red looks great and a classic colour for an ///M Car. I'd steer well clear of Black's and Grey's for the interior as the new Bangle design cars really need a little contrast to liven the dreary cabin look.

Just my 0.02p worth.

Now these are wing mirrors to be proud of, and this is how an interior and sports seats should look.

Thought i would stir it up a bit ;)

That is what I was referring to ;) . The calipers just dwarf OEM E46 M3 ones.

Is it just me or does the line that runs front to back from side vent just stop by the filler lid then carry on after it? Looks really odd to me. EDIT: looks more like it's just the light reflecting in the side shot.

Have to say the colour doesn't help but its going need a bit of Evotechnik magic fair dust sprinkling on the top before it becomes a stunner :)

The engine on the other hand  :)

Looks better in blue, mirrors are trick - interior looks shit - I hope it looks better in black. Jamal, could you make it Alpine White as that is the colour I am ordering mine in - and oh please BMW let me have a CF roof for added trickness.

They may dwarf the E46 M3 calipers but they are still single pot floating piston. Just like that on my 335D, the caliper body is huge but the pad is tiny. However, I must say the pedal feel is MUCH better on the E92 than the E46. How enduring the brakes are I've yet put thme to test.

Totally agree. That said, given the choice between a car that looks pap on the outside or a car that feels like a wet flannel in a light breeze to drive, I think I'll take the former. ;)

KP - It comes with a CF roof as standard dude. Not sure if it's sprayed over or not, but I got the impression from the blurb that it was going to be left a la CSL.

Crap on the outside and on the inside and you look like a drug dealer when driving it ;) (that said, it is more of a GT car now and less of a boy racer car, according to the artical the pics came from)

Would hardly call the new RS4 a wet flannel, you either like 4wd or not.

03-04-2007, 10:42 PM
4WD should be kept for turbo'd cars not NAs.

911 dont need 4wd - 911 Turbo is better for it.

M3 needs RWD and the Audi I bet would be better for it.

Why on earth should it matter if a car is NA or FI as to how many wheels are driven?
It is surely down to wht the owner wants from a car?

Mayb black and black out rear lights.

Not liking the side profile shot...Not feeling it

The only thing i see that let this car down, is the small rims and gigantic mirrors:confused:

Hopefully will look better in the flesh.

One thing I can now say is that even though the E46 OEM setup is poor, once you change the disk and pad to a higher grade, such as the DBAs with axxis pads (retaining the OEM) caliper, the braking is 100% improved so if the braking on the new M follows the same path then possibly just a disk and pad upgrade will sort it up for most enthusiastic drivers.

Those door mirrors do look very clumsy :( .

I like it, the shape of the car is good, once its specced out in a decent colour / interior colour combo, with 19" wheels it will look like a totally different beast :)

If I had the money, i'd have one on order tomorrow.

I like it, step in the right direction. Most E46 owners wont like it, thats the way it goes when a new model is released.

I think it'll grow on everyone.

Cant believe they havnt stepped up on the brakes though. I mean you even get Brembos on a Megane these days:rolleyes:

RS6 all the way for me. The M3 just doens't compare in looks, the mirrors look like something you would expect to see on a citreon. I'd wait to see what the Audi 5 will deliver.

And one can be used as a proper family car

Had an RS4 for a Day a while back... amazing car, but does not compare to the CSL.

And hopefully the new M3 is better than the CSL, so will def not compare to that.

Yup as a family car, it has to be the RS4, if the 4 door m3 does not come out.. even then the RS4 is safer, so probably better to have kids in that.

But no where near that stage in my life yet.. so New M3, bring it on!
