How easy is it to take the internals out of a xenon haedlamp (saloon) and put them in to a non xenon headlamp (coupe) any ideas? Not really seen the Headlights or internals.

[hmm. I dont see the actually xenon bits being much different, probably just the casings ect to keep it in place.... I reckon it would be easier to sell the saloon ones and buy coupe versions tho ;) :p.

To be honest it would be easier and probably a lot better to do as Afif has said and buy some genuine coupe xenons. You know it makes better sense mate ;) .

A5GUR, have u tried guys like essential bmw? he will accept offers on sets of oem xenons (about 300/pair) so might be worth giving him a tinkle. eBay sometimes has some good stuff but u never know what you're going to get, especially electrical and fake Diesel trainers so i'll def be careful:) if not, u can always get yourself a HID kit :D

essential bmw is a rip off! there are much more competitive places out there. But it depends on how desperate you are for these?

Keep checking ebay etc, phone around the breakers...

Dont forget even when you fit them you will have to get you car flashed by the dealer and fit a new light control module (£150+).

Or get one of those resistor / transformer things that tricks the cars computer and stops the bulb out message which is probably a better option than changing the LCM ££££.

Also come MOT time you may have problems not having the washer jets and self levelling, having said that most MOT's probably wouldn't even notice.

If you are really brave have a go at this:

I love the part that says technical knowledge is required [crackmeup

Also don't forget some is now here Dude so you wont be using you lights as much anyway.

Could use funds on some other summer mods [cool

true, where do you get the resistor/ transformer things? What does the LCM actually do?

This may help.

The LCM question has been answered on one of your other many xenon threads. :)

If you do the retrofit properly to factory spec you will have to change the LCM. If you are not bothered and just want the xenon look the short cuts are there.
