I have an option to buy one or the other. I plan to run a sub and amp - what is better for this application the OEM or the Vorsteiner one.

Any ideas

Thanks

My opinion for what its worth stick with the oem one, I'm not a lover of Vorsteiner stuff.

Aesthetics aside, the OEM bootlids are very solid and I'm sure would insulate the sound of a sub much better than a VS one. Someone like Ted or Roy would be best to try and describe that as they deal with them all the time, but if you're thinking about containing the bass then that's where my money would go.

The OEM fits 100%, the inside skin is very neat and items such as the boot lock fits perfectly. Nothing more to say TBH, especially if you can find one at reasonable money.

The Vorsteiner also fit very well but with some minor tweaks. The inside skin is rough but this will be covered by the bootlid lining anyway. Boot lock slot needs filing to make things fit, so does the rubber stop slots. However, with the Vorsteiner, you get the carbon fibre effect if you leave the duck tail unpainted. It is also lighter.

As long as you dynamat the boot lid at crucial places, you don't get much rattling for either one of them. Vorsteiner also offers a ready made 'sound deadened' bootlid specially for people into their ICE.

nick is bang on again :D

vorsteiner do offer a reinforced audio version boot, cost to you would be :

Full carbon £1090
Single sided carbon £970
DVWP £ 840
Carbon Tail Option on DVWP version + £80

all the above prices already include audio reinforcement, take off £75 if you do not want this feature.

Also, you no longer have to drill for the rubber stops :)

We have one dvwp and one single sided vorsteiner non audio lids in stock right now.
