Other than 30p a corner, what's the difference between:

Goodyear
EAGLE F1 GS-D3
235/35 R19 91Y XL
£ 147.00

or

Goodyear
EAGLE F1 GS-D2
235/35 R19 ZR XL
£ 147.30

...and so which should I go for?

If one has better rim protection than the other, I should choose them

pasted from MyTyres below ...D2 seems to be referred to as the ultimate within their range and D3 being aimed at anti-aqua planing. of the two, i'd personally go for D3 as it apparent has less road noise (always a problem with fat tyres). FYI, the quietest tyres out at the mo are Yokohama dB series [ok Still confused? get 2 each :D

Goodyear
EAGLE F1 GS-D3
235/35 R19 91Y XL
£ 147.00

Eagle F1 GS-D3 Combination high performance tread compound, V-tred pattern design and new casing shape delivers maximum resistance to aquaplaning and extreme levels of wet handling.
Continuous centreline delivers improved on-centre steering feel, improved steering precision and fast steering response.
Asymetric rib angle design increases lateral stiffness with consequent improved steering performance Very long tread grooves running perpendicular to the footprint edge and optimised tread design provides reduced noise on smooth road surfaces

Goodyear
EAGLE F1 GS-D2
235/35 R19 ZR XL
£ 147.30

Derived from racing tyres and produced at the Goodyear Racing Division in Akron, Ohio, the Eagle FI GS family is the ultimate in high performance.
The tyres feature asymmetric pitching for improved comfort through minimised noise levels.
The reduced shoulder non-skid provides cooler running temperatures for maximum cornering ability and high speed performance.

GS-D3s were the latest in the product line. They kind of replaced the GS-D2s in a way. Well thats what my wife told me when she worked for Goodyear.

Pity she doesn't anymore (used to be a great discount :D ).

I'd get the GS-D3s if I were in the market for F1s.

Just had my 2nd pair of GSD3's fitted at £150 each :D

Great tyre IMO!! My Bro had GSD2's on his shitty Yaris T-Sport [bang and changed them after 500 miles cos of soft walls giving bodyroll effects! :(
