Well, a couple of months ago, after seeing Black Sabbaths VTTR post, i ordered some for my 530i as well. After receiving them, the first attempt at fitting didn't go too well. the drivers side fitted perfectly, and the passenger side didn't fit at all. Tried and tried and tried, but it just would not fit. Spoke to Teddy who phoned the factory, and also rang Mark to see if he had any problems. I would just like to add that i have spoken to both Mark and Teddy probably once, and that was just saying hello at the Kent meet at the grasshopper inn, and i can't begin to say how helpful they both were!

To cut a long story short, i ended up having a new brakcet made up for the passenger side and had them fitted last week at work. Also added front and rear s/s hoses and some DOT5.1 brake fluid at the same time

here are some pics from today

Nice one Alex, they look awesome mate, hope they perform as well as they look!

Colour compliments the car well, plus haven't seen many in blue so good choice.

Why the issues with fitting? Did VTTR supply a new bracket or something you had to source yourself?

I'd be interested to know coz I might go BBK myself.

no, the guy at work who fitted them took me to an engineering company where his mate works and had the same problem when he was fitting aston martin brakes to his car. I had two brackets that were exaactly the same for the calipers. This would have been ok if the holes for the calipers were in the middle of the bracket, but as they were drilled to one side they would therefore only fit one side of the car. We even tried to use the supplied spacers to get it to fit, left it over night as it was getting late and i slept on it to see if there was anything that we weren't or were doing stupidly, but we weren't.

still, got a new bracket made, a weeks turnaround, and am very very happy with the brakes and would recommend them to anyone thinking about doing it!

cheers

Well done Alex, great mod - deffo worth bedding them in properly to get them up to correct working temps.
(AP recommend 30 light brake applications from 55mph to 30 mph in blocks of five with 1/2 mile between each block to let them cool down, then another 100 miles slowly increasing braking effort - then you can make them glow red with full power stops !) :D ;)
