As per subject - how? Front and Rear bench. Are there any pics on the net, guide or something?

Do i need any special tools?

Anything to be careful of?

Cheers

can't find a DIY just now but please be careful that u don't trip the airbag/seatbelt (?) sensor which is located under the seat. if it is tripped, i heard that u need to get dealer reflash orelse u will have red warning lamp on your dash. to counter this, i *heard* that u should remove bettery terminal before attenpting it. like I say, i read these things somewhere but would be best if u get other opinions as I tend to shoot out a lot of BS :D

Cool - that sorts that out then.

Whats the best tool to use? Rachet set? Are they standard bolts?

Yo lee - im very surprised to hear that. My last car was an e36 and I had standard seats in that also. For me, the seats in my e46 are LOADS better than the e36 AND more comfortable than those in my dads 320d. Not sure why that is - although im not sure if BMW changed the design, since my dads car is a 2001 Y and mines a 2002 51 reg - my seats look different, have that reflective strip on em - no idea if they are or not!!

And no - not ditching seats, just gonna give car a proper good clean - and since i need to run a wire for the basslink upto the fron of car from boot - tis the idea opportunity!

Blimey Kav, I paid the dealer thirty squid to reset my airbag [bang

Seats are really easy to remove but make sure you have disconnected the battery!!!

Another tip is be careful when doing the bolts back up especially the ones on the rear of the seat as they cross thread quite easily. You will need a socket set.

Do not reconnect the battery until all the connections are back in place [cool

Cheers for all advise. They came out well easy. The connecter confused me for a bit for the airbag - then i worked it out !!! How much crap was under there! Defo need to do this 1 time at least, to get a hover under there and such all the crap up....oh yea and find a few quid :)
