it might feel ok in the flesh but its how long it lasts in the long run that matters [bang. Have to find someone whos had it for a while and see what they say [ok.

Hmmm - be careful.

I used to have a contemporary furniture shop and one of our manufacturers offered something similar to this and artificial suede on our dining chairs - about half the price will last less than half the time in my experience.

We had plenty of returns

Then again it might be something entirely different [hmm

Believe it or not, this is actually an option on US Spec cars. It's called "leatherette". It looks feels and smells like leather but is synthetic. It will actually outlast leather and needs zero care. They dye takes to the synthetic material better too, and no fading occurs

Yep, I had leatherette in my old Merc 240 and it feels, smells just like lower end natural leather. No creases or cracks and no mantainence. MB-Lex I think they call it.

nice bit of info...v tempting as my driver's seat 's bolsters are bobbling and could do with a freshen up. I might be promoted to Crew status if I get 'EvoTechniks' embossed in my front seats ;) BIG PIMPIN

there no 's' on EvoTechnik :p. So other than smelling like 'lower end' leather this material is all good :D?

Nick's got high standards tho so it's bound to be good for me:) 2nd hand oem leather interior (ave condition) seems to be around 600-750 so 299 fully fitted is v tempting. when i sell my car, i can always say it's Scottish kangaroo leather and normal punters would never know the difference.
