Can the following functions be operated through the standard BMW alarm remote?
- Follow me home headlights
- Window Closure
- Folding mirrors
I know if buying an aftermarket alarm (say clifford) you can hook these features up to it, however i dont want another alarm! Any ideas??

1. Nothing to do with the remote. Pull back once on the headlight stalk and the follow me home feature is activated.
2. On coupe's, yes, on verts, no
3. No

The headlight stalk is the one on the left hand side, the one used for the indicators.

Just confirming what bigFAs said...
1. It is the left hand stalk, lights - just pull it once when ignition turned off and key out.. give you 2 mins of lighting home...
2. Remote Key total closure - yes can be programmed by the dealer to close all windows on the coupes and saloons...
In the UK spec, most come pre-configured - if not, dealer can programme it
3. NO - simply because it is an optional extra, not standard....
Hi A5GUR,
good to see you made it over to here from the mkivs forum. You may not remember me but we met up at the pub opposite Swanshurst School...
We will have to meet up again when you get your new ride.
Also, to you guys/gals in the know (kind of hijacking the thread, sorry), the total closure feature on the remote for coupe's, my rears don't close. They open with the remote but not close (is that normal)?
Cheers.

whats this follow me home thing?
It is when the headlights are activated, for a small duration, when you exit the the car at night to light the way up to your front door.
I like it, but for me it only lights up the garage door - he he :D

the total closure feature on the remote for coupe's, my rears don't close. They open with the remote but not close (is that normal)?
The rear ventilation windows opens on one touch but due to safety issues (in case a child decides to put his/her between them they do not 'bounce under resistance' like the front windows do), you need to hold the switch down to close them; hence, they are not available to remote shut fully.

Ahhhh cheers for that Nick.
I have to admit, I actually have never had to use the remote to total close the windows but it is always a nice feature to have.

Hey Raj, how are you? Didnt realise you changed over. Do you still have the golf? yeh we should meet up sometime, when i get my car.
Nick, that module seems well kool. Ive just been on their site, cant see that module anywhere. Does it link up to your standard alarm system!
Hi again Kam,
Sold the Golf back in October and picked up my new ride a few days later. Have started the long road of spending all my hard earned on her but she is already looking completely different to when I first bought her.
Raj.
