So after having driven Fas's car around for a few days late last year, I decided that I would also get the Eibach coilovers, as the handling of his boat had been transformed.

So near the end of 2006 there was a knock on the door and the courier had this box for me :D
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079885/b99.jpg

After some quick discussions with Fas, he asked his amazing bodyshop to do the work for me and so popped along there yesterday and immediately Jay was at work stripping my car down (none of that having a tea then reading the paper for 30mins crap)
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079886/bdb.jpg

The rear springs where out before I even had a chance to nose around all the amazing cars there!
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079887/ca8.jpg

And moments later the shocks where gone too, and the lovely new Eibach ones where in place!
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079888/bb8.jpg
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079889/89f.jpg

As we where moving onto the rear springs, Jay informed me of the shocking state of the rubber things which are placed on the springs, this was due to the springs not having been seated properly and basically a shite fitting of them all in all.
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079891/3d6.jpg

The above one was completely destroyed and had to be binned, testiment to the utter SHITE job done by the previous company I had used for my suspension work

Anyways, Jay was able to work his magic and we got it sorted and the rear springs where ready to fit
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079890/ace.jpg

The rears all snuggly fitted and ready for action :D
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079892/b12.jpg
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079893/88c.jpg

We moved onto the fronts, (now when I saw we, I mean Jay got to work while I stood then annoying him with talk of wanting to strip some parts of the M3 CS which was in for some body work!)
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079894/f4b.jpg

The fronts ready to be put in
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079895/ef2.jpg

He was all done in under 2 hours!!

He noticed that I had a broken fog light and without saying anything at all, just went and replaced it FOC for me with a new one!
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079896/8f9.jpg

And finally this is Jay's car
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1079897/f62.jpg

I have not been able to really drive the car hard, as its been raining alot, but I can already feel the difference around the bends and through the roundabouts!! I cannot wait for the roads to dry out some, so I can really make the new suspension work!!

A BIG BIG THANKS to Jay and also to Fas for sorting it all out for me, and also coming along and staying around for an hour too!

Oh just to add, we have not set the lowering to be too aggressive, its almost the settings as they came out of the box, I will drive the car around for a week then we fine tune the ride height more.

Will get some pics of the car as soon as it stops raining

The eibach coilovers are fantastic value for money, had them on my old E46 and you wont get better for the money.

Nice mod.

cool post dude. No worries on the hook up :) Jay's a top bloke and knows his stuff inside out. No-one else touches the mechanicals on the car except him now, and you saw for yourself why.

One of the rear seating pads were shot, another was severely bent out of shape. Other bodyshops would have halted and waited for a new part or say come back another day, Jay spent some time, heating and re-shaping the part to get it back to pukka.

And then Mud told me about the fog light repair. Where else would you get that level of service :)

Some people will be surprised to see this thread, as I tend not to bother posting about the mods I do to the car, but I just had to thank both Fas and Jay for the amazing work done!!

Superb, very good writeup and that is superb service. Finding a good shop is very hard. After reading this I would be prepared to do the 60'odd mile journey for work to be done just because they really seem to understand the cars - and the customers :D .

Custom colour bro. Ford Tornado purple. Only one in the world like it. It's a special order colour in the US only. Full engine out job, door shuts, everything.

It's actually a 528 auto. Hamann front, M5 bumpers, quad exhaust, M6 alloys, M5 brakes, coilies and big ICE. I'll take some more pics of his car this week. it's awesome.

So, are Eibach Coilovers any good then?

Compared to the highly rated KW's?

Also, what about FK's?

KW make the Eibach shocks.

IMO the Eibach coilovers are excellent value for money, and have fastly improved the handling of my car

Whats the ride like?

What do they retail at?

Mud
10-02-2007, 07:27 PM
Ride is excellent, not too harsh and I live down a road with pot holes the size of Wales!

The RRP is something like £650, I got them for £615 plus £10 for delivery.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread....

In the pic above...is that that Eibach's set to Max ride height or can they go higher?? (I know it might sound strange, when usually people want to go lower!)

Thanks :D
