Hello everyone. Just need some help with a problem I have with one of my front seats. I have managed to break the lever that you pull up to release the passenger front seat to allow access into the back of the car. (I have an E46 Coupe with M3 leather interior).

Can this be purchased as a new unit from BMW? I have checked realoem.com but cant find the part number, does anyone know what it is? & has anyone ever had the same problem before?! :o

Thanks in advance...

is the actual plastic bit broken into half or does it just feel loose and does nothing when you lift it? If it's the second then the belt might have come loose or snapped. look for the 2 self tappers at bottom of seat back, pull them out and remove the seat backs. Examine the said belt. If loose put it back if snapped ring BM

if it's the plastic lever ring BM

you are looking at parts 2, 3, 4, 6 or 7

Yeah the actual plactic bit has broken, so looks like a phone call to BM. To bo honest the lever was a little slack before it broke off, so I have probably got the first problem you spoke of also! Which probably means to replace the whole mechanism.

Thanks for the diagram Teddy that helps a a lot.

Anyone know if this will be a big job to replace the mechanism?
