There are a couple of specialist bmw breakers:
http://www.quarrybmwspares.co.uk/
as already mentioned and
http://www.fabdirect.com/
give them a try.

Very slowly Luke, but getting there. Roy has recently had one for sale on ebay. Believe it or not, they are about. None of the breakers have got any though. I'v recently bought mine off Keystomybeemer on here, i paid him £150 for it, thought that was cheap. i have seen a few on ebay recently though. got mine on over xmass, not a strait forward fit, but not to bad.

No mate, was gonna get all the parts fitted first, bonnet, m3 bumper, then when i know they fit, strip all the front panel off, fit the charger then get it all sprayed. I'v gotta find a decent m3 bumper still, so i'll keep my eyes open for a bonnet at the same time for ya mate. £150 is good for the fitting though, as you prob know you just have to mess about with shifting the wing in to get the shut lines right. Not sure about the bonnet rams though, i'v read that you have to have te m3 one's to work but have also heard that Mstyle that do the conversion keep the standard one's. i'v got the standard ones on at the mo but think they may give me probs as they dont seem to let the m3 bonnet shut fully, its like when the bonnet is about an inch from snapping shut, the rams are jamming it. wont know untill i get the bumper on and new headlight and adjust it all nd line it up. Keep ya posted though.

yeh cheers for that dave :D :D
like wise i will keep an eye out for a bumper, theres a m3 bumper on ebay at the mo but you will still need the front carrier if ur going for the real thing?? if not y not get one off teddy as his are realy good and you dont have to mess about fitting it.

Yeah, saw the one on ebay. Kinda wanted to go for an oem one really. Just wanna get it sorted though. How much do ya reckon i should pay for a cf carrier? I'v seen em go for penuts on ebay one week then hundreds another.

i dont realy know m8, ive seen the same as you some times they go for next to nothing and other times they go for loads,
silly question i know but have u tryed the breakers for one???
felstmiester
02-01-2007, 11:06 AM
Yeah, its funny though, the breakers have never got a complete bumper, either just a cover or somethings missing, not bothered bout the mesh, spots just need the bumper to be complete. Ebay seems to be the best for these kind of parts, people snap them up to quick from breakers. as it happens, my very local Bm breakers have got one, but he wants £200 for it.

02-01-2007, 11:13 AM
No, i'v looked at the pics of Fas's mod when he done it and it doesn't look like the one on his was cf......or am i wrong??. I know that if you get a 03 m3 bumper or later, they fit different. The early m3 bumpers are the ones that fit the non m3's the best. i'm gonna pm roy now.

i dont think roys bk from holiday till the 8th of jan and when i was speaking to roy he told me that if u get an early m3 bumper u dont need to get a m3 carrier you can use the one u have but check with roy ;)

To be honest with you mate, i think the standard set up with a set of grooved discs, stainless lines, decent pads and fluid would be a pretty good set up, and unless your doing loads of track day, will cope ok. My track day car hasn't got a mega dear set up on it and thats fine, and i would say i brake rreasonably late on he track. Havn't punted no one off the track yet.

To be honest mate, it depends if your going for the BD discs short term or long term? If your just going at it for a stop gap untill you see a decent second hand bbk then go for the them. If not, and your looking to keep a lower budget set up, wich i think will be more than good enough ( lets face it, a lot of people do the bbk just for looks) then i would go for set with ally bells, this helps so much in heat dispersion, as ally soaks up the heat, therefore keeps the set up a lot cooler. I know you will want a bbk for posing reasons in the long run though so its your call mate.

Bmw actualy do a set, if you go to a dealer they will look them up for you and give you a price. They are bassically the same diameter of the standard discs but drilled and have the ally bells. Dont buy them from a dealer though. Cooksferry do there for three quaters of the price. I'm gonna go for this kind of set up. There are loads of companys that will do this kind of thing though Luke. Have a ring round.

Luke have you spoken to Roy about the stoptech brake kits? The stage 2 one looks very tempting and it's cheaper than getting the discs from BMW. For the price of the Hi Spec ones you could probably get one of the BBK's from Roy aswell, and no doubt it'd be better. I wasn't impressed with the hi-spec kit I had a few years back.
