angel eyes

sorry im new to this, i have a 55 plate m3 and am tring to fit angel eyes the trigger wire in the ecu box red/white with yellow dots should be live but its earth any one know anything about it?

The entire car is a massive ground so any metal parts that you can neatly bolt a wire to can be used as a negative. Alternatively, a 'full' brown wire is always negative on a BMW.
