Midnight Photoshoot. 56k play with your ding ding

Hooked up with Mud this evening and went to the lcoal 24 hour tesco car park and shot a load of pics. First time I made an effort to do a night shoot and bottom line is I suck. I was relying on the auto settings of the Nikon D50. Will spend some time over my hols to read some magazines and an e-book (thanks Adood) on how to take better night pics. Here are some of the better ones. Mud took loads on his digi and they came out much better. I really need to learn how to make the most of the camera. Also, these pics are un-edited, will be using photoshop to enhance these, again, over the hols.

I'll post up some not so great pics in the photography section. The halos on the cars give a ghosting effect, need to figure out how to get rid of it

One thing ive found with night shooting is using reflected light from the car to highlight curves works kinda well, also take a few in black & white....they look awesome when (& if in my case) they come out right. :)

Bleh was out from dawn til dusk yesterday so missed the thread, but my bad. I did say I'd be up for it in the detailing section, just didn't get to check the board yesterday, which is a shame cos I came past Slough around 10:30. Gonna try to get some new-year pics done just to document the evolution of the car, although my camera's not special so I don't need to worry about playing too much cos I get what I get. :)

I know what you mean about the halos, that can look good or bad depending on the rest of the shot. The 6th pic you posted looks really good though Fas, it's dark but you can pick out the detail, looks kinda sexy like that.

Ran it through a few filters, auto correction, manual colour correction, hue, saturation, lighting and other stuff I can't remember.
