Yes you can but the waiting time for one of these is sooo long in the UK and RHD cars have different mountings so US spec does not work. I got mine from Australia ;)

Its just an airfilter intake
It wont replace the throttle bodies that would produce less power.

Dont know really, Gruppem dont make that sort of design for the M3. Its looks like it incorporates the AFM into the filter housing, thats the only difference i can see. This is the gruppm

The GruppeM for the E46 M3 is basically a carbon version of the original airbox. However, many who has used the GruppeM and who has dynoed their cars reported a loss in HP as apposed to the 12-14BHP GruppeM has claimed. I think this has to do with the cone K&N filter sitting inside the carbon box. Because a cone filter suck in air from around the filter rather than from either above or below that of a panel filter, the space around the cone inside the GruppeM airbox is very tight. The openings are exactly the same as the OEM airbox and air flow works best flowing through a panel filter rather than squeezing through around the cone filter. If you look at all efficient induction kits with a cone filter, there's usually a lot of space around the cone to maximize air flow. Hence, the most efficient cone filter is the one further away from the engine with no cover or shield. However, given the constraints of engine bay space, a reflective heat shield between cone and engine will reduce heat soak. Just make sure you get as much exposure around the cone as possible.
Other GruppeMs like the trumpet versions on eg. 330, the filter is actually a panel filter shaped like a turbine intake. This design works best with a heatsheild trumpet as air flow directly through the filter and the shape promotes laminar air flow after the filter. Air flow fastest in a straight line, all important especially the MAS that adjust fueling sits right behind the filter. And you get the roar as well ;)

what's it sound like? an't wait to hear. I had a custom made carbon fibre tube for the SSDD M3 intake yesterday so now there is cold air from the brake duct being forcely 'rammed' into the filter now [cool

Don't need to get it polished matey:
They also come in four finishes, polished aluminum (part ends with TP), powder coated blue (part ends in TB), powder coated red (part ends in TR), and powder coated silver (ends in TS)
..I went for the polished aluminium one which gives a 17.68 BHP increase on my R32 . Although I suspect it still won't be shiny enough for you :D

Should get me up to 280ish BHP :D
http://www.kandn.com/dynocharts/69-9502.jpg
...but am sure it'll make a corking noise even if it doesn't quite give me all those extra horses.
Have you fitted yours yet or is at an Easter mod?

Dudes, I've just mounted my Typhoon. OMG THAT NOISE!!!!! :D :D :D
This is the most aggressive sounding induction for the M3 as tested by many modders and I must say it really blows me away.
SICK!!!!!!!!
Performance is just about as good but I doubt it will add any significant gains to the wrunged out S54 anyway......the noise.....the noise.......... [cool

Wahey - well done fella!
Doing mine on Good Friday - how long did it take you to fit it?
I went for the Typhoon cos the Yanks seem to love them, although just read that some US owners haven't noticed any difference in sound over the stock airbox  , so your post has cheered me up :D

They need to turn their hearing aids to position 'T'........LOL
Took me an hour to fit it but my kit came without the bottom grommets for the heat shield, so got to improvise a bit ;)
ooooo i wanna hear :D get a sound clip up :D

Don't really under stand how it all works but....17bhp+ DAMN!!!! I *think* my car is faster with the induction kit so let's leave it at that cause I can't back it up with any scientifical explanation ;)
