steering wheel jammed in full lock

i was reverse parking 2day and i had they wheel in full lock then i turned it full lock in the other direction 2 get my self tucked in when i was just about 2 straighten the wheel it was stuck!!!! so i jumped out the car straight away checked wheels werent touching anything which they wernt, then got back in and tried the wheel again this time i was a lil less gentle... it popped right out wtf's going on?

I have no idea but it might help others if you describe how it came out if you remember. Would you describe it as a metallic click when it popped out or more hydraulic? I dunno, might mean somin to someone else :o

not much of a sound i just gave it a hard turn 2 the right against whatever the resistance was then all of a sudden there was no resistance.... if that makes sense lol

Kid, not exactly sure what you mean. What popped out? Did you just feel and hear a "thud" when turning the wheel back from full lock?

If so, it seems to be quite common on E46's. Not surprising, particularly when you put you wheels on full lock, then get out and have a look at them. The camber of the wheels goes mental when you do it and it can look as if the wheel is actually about to fall off.

the camber of the wheel in full lock is the way most cars should look.. and there was no sound! i cant explain it anymore lol wheel got stuck (wouldnt move) when i turned the wheel as hard as i could it just came instuck but i almost ended up in the passenger side seat when it came un done.... its obviously and e46 trick to make their owners look dumb
