Hello everyone, i have just bought a Snooper s2, it says on the box it detects Gatso's, Specs, Truvelo and Digital camera's. Since i'v bought it someone has said that it doesn't pick up the mobile vans that plot at the side of the road. Obviousley! this is no good.......Or is this not true. I havn't took it out the box yet so if anyone has one of these or knows about them could they please help. If i need to take it back or change it for another make i can. Many thanks. Dave.

I have a S3 and that model detects the mobile vans (any laser gun)
Just been on the snooper site and it looks like who ever told you the S2 dosnt detect mobile vans is right. Hope this helps you decide to keep or not.:)
Entry level GPS Detector for basic Speedtrap alerts and Speed camera location
Even the most conscientious of drivers can have a lapse of concentration which could easily result in a fine and even more seriously, an accident.
The NEW Snooper S2 GPS has been designed to help improve your concentration and to navigate the UK's roads more safely by providing advanced warning of ALL fixed speed safety cameras.

no gps device can pick up mobile vans guys ....all it does it warn you of LIKELY locations where the vans may plot up on some days.
Also , if the unit youbought comes with a laser DETECTOR unit then throwit in the binas thats all it s good for. If it goes off then you have ALREADY been speedtrapped because :
1. a laser aquires your speed at least 9 times a second...so you have NO time to react
2. there is no such thing as "stray" laser signals being bounced off cars ahead of you etc . This only works for omnidirectional radar waves and not beams of light...basic physics
I hate the way GPS unit manufacturers try to dress up their poxy laser detectors as something of real world use ...they are not.
The only protection from laser speedgun is a laser JAMMER...such as LT 400, laser pro part and LE 30. These things WORK ! #
best of luck

comrade roy is sooooo right with this one,
jammers are the way forward! i got "zapped" at 166mph (sti 8 ra 360bhp) on the angel and had the lc100 not fitted at the time i would still be using the bus pass i would have had to have bought when i got out of jail !!!
i now use a lc400 stand alone and a lc100 hooked in to my origin b2, both on the same power supply with a off switch.
if your detector picks up a hit, your nabbed :(

Ive got an S2 and it does say on the box it picks up mobile ones but it never has for me.
Was disappointed but it does have places where they regularly sit which is updated when you do your download.
Its not a bad unit mine was free with my sat-nav so cant complain to much and is quite handy when you are driving round places you dont know!
If you bought it to pick up mobile ones i'd take it back, if you want it as a general unit just to give you a reminder then it aint too bad.
