Received these upgrades today for our s/charged Demo M3 :
- 8 rib drive pulley system to prevent belt slip with new compressor (oem is 6 rib)
- larger 81 trim compressor
- redesigned intake manifold
will be fitting these over next week, should make a great car even beter :)
She is going very weel indeed, last weekend at Brunty the speedo needle went right off the clock ( and I mean right off, nearly to the "M" logo ), will have vids soon. Would have them now but there was aproblem with the harddrive ...:((

Bloody hell Roy, that is seriously fast  . To get it that quick at up the straight requires mad BHP. I gotta see this car in the metal soon.

hey Al
do you mean when i completely overcooked the hairpin at about 90 mph and me and you ended up doing about three 360 degree spin slides ? :D :D ...i am gutted but no the bloody camera did not record at that point for some reason ...just a load of static, I dont think the hard drive is designed for those kind of stealth fighter G forces :)
BTW ...my pants took ages to clean after that :)
I did get Justins awesome slide past the Jumbo on film ...just. Will post up asap .

Glad you got Justins slide, da boy got skills
hopefully next time I go back my car will play the game, lets us know how you get on with that manifold though, be intresting so if it makes the differance

hi andy
the supercharger pulley is 70 mm ( st2 is 75 mm) to give a boost of 8.5- 9.5 psi.
the rest of the new 8 rib engine pulleys are all OEM size , just with 2 more ribs width for better belt grip all round and avoid belt slip in severe use/ heat.

So whats the difference between the 2 manifolds? From the pics it looks like the new one is a little more angular than the origional, surely thats not a good thing? Although i havent seen many good pics of an origional.
And what do you mean by new 81 trim compressor? More boost?
Looking very nice though:D Now for new internals and a higher rev limit.

i had same thoughts about the manifold Lee...will report back soon as we have it all fitted.

How does the pulley's having 2 extra rib's prevent slip'ge???
The pulley's on my G60 are the same and am just about to fit a toothed belt pulley kit, this is the only sure way to prevent any slip'ge.
Pictured was the kit I had, and have now changed it to a kit with guides on all the pulleys to prevent the belt from being able to wander.

That toothed kit looks a top idea.....next job Roy:) . Adding a few more ribs usually does do the job as the surface area on the belt is slightly bigger.

Because the pulley and belts are wider then the load is spread over a wider area = more grip = less slipage. Especially considering we use quite a small diameter pulley at the supercharger end.
Toothed belts typically only really work well at comparatively low stress/ boost applications, otherwise they can suffer from excessive noise, stripped teeth and tend to require adjusting more often. They can also only accomodate relatively large pulley diameters. Would not last 5 mins on a 70 mm pulley :)
All "big power" supercharger kits tend to use the ribbed Poly - Vee system for this reason.
Please dont misunderstand me G60 as I am in no way disrespecting you or your scar's set up,it's just our two requirements and specs are quite different :D
all the best

no worries, wasn't thinking any disrespect;)
At the moment I am running a 68mm pulley and will be running the same size toothed, may go down to a 65mm next year or when I get my charger to R1 spec, full blend. The other sizes of pulleys which are used are 63, and 57 and 55, the latter being used by crazy germans:eek: :D
On my set up there is no requirement for any adjustment once fitted as I use a spring tensioner, although some use solids there should still be no adjustment.
It is true what you say about the noise they give of, they have quite a manacing sound, especially when combined with the sweet growl of a G Lader charger:D absolutly love drving down the road and seeing folks faces when they hear it coming, thinking "What the fcuk is this coming down the road" :D :D would love to get a shot/spin/hear what an S/C'd M3 sounds like:eek:

57 mm pulley on a toothed belt
damn I must be out of date on this stuff then
used to supercharge Alfas back in the early 90 s and back then a 75 mm pulley was hard enough to drive on a toothed system without problems :)
you are right tho ...they can sound mean as hell :)

sorry my bad, not sure if ze crazy germans run the smaller pulley's toothed, but probalby:eek:

Im liking that idea of a toothed belt, wouldnt care about the noise... hmmmm
G60 whats the specs on your dub id be quite intrested especially the rallye.
