Ever since I had my umnitza 46 projectors with X-tec xenon conversion fitted, the computer light comes on and the front indicators light up permantely!
This really pisses me off because I wanna drive around with just the halo's on, but only when you turn low beam on the indicator's go out.

I've spoken to many people about this but am not too technical and haven't got a clue about wiring or anything like that.

I also put in the LED rear lights from a mate (not teddy's ones), and this caused the rear light OBC to come on. Sytner said that I'd need to replace the switch box and both lights would go out, however it's in my local Sytner today and they replaced the switch box, but still no joy, as they said that the only way is to put my standard headlights back in......and both the front and back obc lights would go out???

Is there anyone on here who's good with lights/electrics who I can possibly meet up with to have a look? I'd be happy to stripe their palm with gold in return for this problem sorted....
Cheers

Kris

Ok Basically, the indicators are probably coming on, because your normal side lights have been removed. You need to reinstall these, and leave them in the engine bay, as all of the EvoTechnik Crew does.

For safety reason your indcators are used, as it thinks you don;t have side lights.

If you have got the LED's installed. You have to go the dealer and get them to Code them in with thier computer system, this is the only way. Peppernick did this and all of was fine after.

Hope this helped.

Really..... i never knew that... thats pretty smart.

The indicators and lights play a major part in the computer monitoring and circuitry side of things. In the post 2001 E39, it is one of the 4/5 places where the vehicle mileage is stored - should any one ever want to clock their cars - it has to be done in 5 differents places and sync'd up.

In the headlight modules, the keys as well as other places!!

Naturally, there is always workarounds... as we know!

ok, looked under the bonnet yesterday but couldn't find the sidelight leads, only things hanging out were the headlight levelers from my stock lights. So I'm thinking that the guy who fitted them must have hidden them or taped them down, so I'm gonna uninstall and reinstall them at the weekend.

Am I right in saying that the one bulb on the inside lights nearest to the grill only should work as a Full beam?

Assuming they're correctly fitted, and the xenon's have had resistors fitted, they should work fine right?

Cheers

yarse...from the inside of the car (grill side) - high beam - side light - low beam:)
