Teddy has informed me CCFL's fit the E46 Compact!!

Because i am unsure if they will look good on the compact i posted on E46Fanatics for someone to photoshop me some eyes on an image.

Here are the results!!!

Some opinions would be helpfull guys if you dont mind!!! (Not the best of images)

Oh Bigfas and "Dr Nick" (lol) i know its a very standard looking front end so dont throw a load of potential mods at me please!!

I'll be surprised if the inner ring will fit. The outer light looks fine, it looks a similar size to the e46 lens, but the inner one is a 99.9% definite no-no. The rings are in a plastic housing with little to no flex and no way to make it a smaller diameter.

That might cause a problem as it taps into your sidelight bulbs and if I'm not mistaken, the sideslights are in the inner lens? That means not only will you be running one halo per side which in itself may look a little weird. but you'll still have a yellowy light eminating from the inner light

Unless Teddy has some smaller rings he's not told us about, I personally don't think it's gonna happen.

Sorry to piss on your parade but the truth is what we're here for. Would absolutely LOVE to be proved wrong though!

right let me give you some good news and bad news
good news is that I have someone tried them out on a compact, the rings fit perfectly as the inner headlamp housing are pretty similar to our normal E46 (flat top).

Ok here is the bad bad new, after you put the bumper back on, you will NOT be able to see the halos because the inner holes are TOO SMALL.

As Fas said unless the factory can do some smaller rings then the standard sized rings will fit compact but will not be visible....now where does this take us...

Sorry dude, bad luck :(

Don't give up so easily. There are other lighting options, such as HID upgrades, i think i see a xenon lens, you can upgrade the bulbs on those to give a brighter look as well as the fog light bulbs too :)

But he will still be able to see the two outer rings which is better than nothing. I would just install the two outer ones then.

LED bulb DDEs. They will put out probably 1/10 of the light you get from CCFLs. Remember the old type DAEs where there are huge light boxes within the engine bay? The light boxes are used is because that's the only way to get enough illumination around the rings. The tiny LEDs does not cut the mustard. I've seen a few cars at HIN last year with them and they look really piffling.
