guys if your gonna fit the ERK shoft shift its a nightmare it took me 3 hours in the end and that was on a ramp. Removing the carrier is ok and removing the shifter is easy but trying to get the shift to go into all geears OHHHHHH no ask nick he came down and i was stressing couldn't get the car into reverse or top (i.e 5th)
anyway in the end managed to get the shifter to work (lots of fucking around) and get the new selector rod in with new bushs so th egear cagnhe is wicked. However they sent me the srong selector (i.e gear stick) so now the stick hit sthe prop so there sending me a new one. This mod is hot and miss i fitted to my mates E36 with no problem but the E46 is a different story lucky for me when i start a mod i have to finsih it i was determined to get it in even if i was at the garage all night!
Right this brings me on to the exhaust. It fitted fine but i had ni rear carrier so we had to use some other carriers the resul tbeing there is no rubber mountin gon the rear so the exhaust is well tight which cause it to vibrate a litte. So i am going to fit the orignal BMW brakerts (which i recall should be used I forgot if i used them on my old e46 but i am sure i did) and then order the fixing kit from supersprint.
all in all it wasn't a wasted day its just that nothing went to plan but i soppose thats the joy of modding.
Can anyone recall that when the supersprint was fitted did they still use the orignal BMW carriers for the rear box i am 99% sure they do. at leats i can do this bit myself i won't need a ramp.
The exhaust was off a diesel so when i we revved th ecar all the shit went over my mate lol at leats it fitted I will sort it out properly on friday i am gonna take a day off work as its really bothering me! i hate finished half mods really bugs me when th ecar is nbot right i just don't want to drive it
