Dont use t-cut! Its far too abrasive and will leave more swirl marks than there was to start with....Meguiars do a product called scratchX, thats the best to use.It says that if it cant remove a light scratch or swirl mark they will refund your money and it does work...ive used it and its a great product.
For the best results, work with three stages.
1. go over the whole car with the meguiars scratch removal(work it in one drection not in circular motions)
2.go over the whole car again with a semi abrasive polish, somthing like an autoglym.
3.go over the who car with a top coat wax.....meguiars will again give the best results but you may not wanna spend £16 on a wax, so tutle wax is a good alternative.
Its always worth touching up any stone chips before you start.
Hope this helps [ok

i personaly use 3 different grades of liquid compound (fine, super fine, mega fine...) and rub it down with a block sponge - works a treat:0)
i need to do this when the weather gets good [hmm. Hate doing stuff like this in the cold :p

I was told not to apply it myself coz I would ruin the paintwork....!
The guy at the garage did it for me...and it really does restore colour...good for a patch..but not for the entire car!!

Im with you on that one, if youve got a slightly deeper scratch T-cut works well in a localised area, i would never do a whole car...Its too coarse, especially on metalic finishes.

thanks for the help and tips ben :D just waiting for the weather to get better and then its gonna be a mission!
would a clay bar be any good for stripping back the old wax??
ive use that wax it wet stuff a few times and boy there is so much silcone on the paint now its hard to get it looking decent.
i dont mind paying out for some pro wax just wanting to get the paint in top shape before on splash out on some zaino.
thanks again

No worries bud.....
I dont know about a clay bar, but to be honest if you give your car a good scrub with household washing-up liquid this will remove any wax etc.Its not a good idea to do it all the time, but it works if you wanna get all the wax off.
This is what some spray shops do cus it gets rid of any wax/silicone resudues which is obviously not good to be on a car thats about to be sprayed.
You can buy a special cleaner for the job though if your not keen on the later. ;)
