Ali, the ACS suspension I got was the last one ever made, before they discontinued it. The ACS Damper Force Control suspension has 3 modes, Sport (normal intown driving), intermediate (fast a-roads and motorways), and RaceTrack (for super smooth roads and very tight bends ;)

From a switch in the console, you can switch between each of the modes, and the dampers will electronically adjust.

Problem I had was that
(A) the kit I got was for a LHD car (fair enough, RHD would not have been possible). Very sutle differences anyhow, just the controll module and a wiring is routed differently.

(B) Only the sport and intermediate modes were working, hence the controller was removed and sent back to ACS, who then said because it was modified to fit a RHD car, the waranty was void.. () hence I had to cough up to get it fixed and shipped back to me. Whats the point in having this system if it don't work!!?!?!?!?!!

But anyways, its all sorted now, and works a treat!! total transformation of the cars handling in every way.. pretty much sticks around most corners, and with DSC off, getting the backend out and shaking its thing is :D

Just working on getting the newest pics up for Durgs to put up on the site.

Hi peeps,

just thought I would say hi. This is my first post to the forum. BigFas pointed me here from the fanatics forum.

Based in Staffordshire and my ride is '00 328Ci, and have been modding cars for a few years now. I have to admit my initial plans were not to mod the BM but it never stays that way for long.

I like subtle mods that don't de-tract from an OE look but my main plans are to do a couple of engine mods and a BBK.

A couple of pics of my pride and joy for now.

You'll get a ton of ideas on modding your coupe, just be prepared to kiss goodbye to your credit limits ;)

Raj
09-03-2005, 01:33 PM
Yeah I have spent a litte bit so far.

OE M3 wing mirrors / boot lip spoiler, angel eyes, ICE, 18" MVs, re-map, black diamond discs/pads all round, 50% tints, silvervision indicator bulbs all round and plenty of swissol wax :D

Future mods are BBK (probably Brembo from AmD), maybe a Supersprint 'zorst (dependant upon how quiet they are - I like stealth), GruppeM and de-lock.

That may be it. As the exterior I am happy with, and as for performance the only real way to go is forced induction (but that is BIG ££££).

Who knows though..........

Afif
09-03-2005, 06:48 PM

10-03-2005, 07:04 AM
Hi Afif,

I have spent thousands on previous motors but I am genuinely satisfied that the exterior is where I want it to be with the BM. I am really into stealth and prefer to have a stock looking exterior and if I can then plenty of engine work. My last car was a golf that looked stock but was running 285bhp. It is great fun when people pull up next to you and they think you are driving a standard car ;)

I may be looking into forced induction :D but who knows.

As for the ICE, again stealthy is the way for me. Nakamichi HU, Soundstream Amp, Boston Acoustics components and Celestion Sub.

Having said all of that though, I might completely do a 180 :) you know the score.....

Hi Afif,

It is a Soundstream VGA320.4. Was running a Ref405for quite a few years but it gave up on life :(

The VGA amps are awesome. Technologically very advanced. Really rate it. Still messing with the rest of the setup as I am still not 100% happy. Hopefully be sorted by next weekend.

Hello gents, newbie here although not new to BMW. Had been a member on e36coupe for years (2 E36's & 3 E30's) but sold my car to fund a money making scheme which has come good. I had bought an accord type r but thankfully after only 6 months of ownership I can now say good bye to it.

I'm after a 330 coupe but possibly a vert as that is what the wife wants me to get. I look forward to reading through your ideas on various mods for the E46.

Hello there,

I'm new in these parts, i've come aboard via BMW-Land where i spend most of my time on the internet..

I've got a 2001 320d that i'm crafting into a nicer looking beast, here's a snap of it, (in the process of ordering a new front bumper so ignore the old horrible one)

and i've also got an E36 320i that i'm selling.
